Daniels Electronics was incorporated in 1950, originally to provide hand-built radio telephones for the fishing industry in British Columbia. In the early 1960s, the company was taken over by the two sons Terry and Ron Daniels. In the 1980s Daniels diversified its business with a contract to manufacture mountain top radio repeaters.
Over its 60-year history, Daniels provided customers in North America and internationally with highly reliable Base Stations and Repeaters (The MT-x series) that were environmentally robust to operate in rugged and extreme temperature conditions where low current consumption (solar powered) was a key requirement.
In 2012, Daniels Electronics was sold to Codan Communications and the product line was incorporated into the Codan product offering. For Gerry and me, it was a pleasure and privilege to work at Daniels with Terry and Ron. They are both now retired here in Victoria.
